Reception class are settling in well.
Reception have settled well into School life and beginning to get used to the rules and routines. This week we have begun our morning Phonics and Maths carpet times as well as directed activities at the tables led by an adult. All the children have participated well and given the activites their best shot which has been lovely to see. During Phonics this week we are looking at intial phonemes s,a,t and i. For Maths we are doing lots of counting and recognising number activities.
On Tuesday afternoon we had our first PE lesson. For those children who did have their PE kit ( a named light blue polo shirt and black/navy shorts) in school did get changed with some support. We did encourage the children to be as independent as possible. Their efforts where amazing!! Once changed we had lots of fun in the Hall doing action songs and doing 'the gummybear' dance - the children loved it, lots of happy smiles all around including Mrs Carter and Mrs Howard!!
Lunch times are working out well, everyone so far has remembered what they have ordered in the morning and eaten most if not all of their delicious lunch.
