A successful start to School.
Well done Reception, we have successfully made it to Half Term with so many achievements along the way! Everyone is now coming into school with smiles (not so many tears), joining in fun learning activities, making new friendships, sitting beautifully on the carpet area, beginning to listen with more care and trying so hard to not call out, instead putting hands up waiting patiently to share ideas. As well as settling in, Reception class have been learning phonemes (sounds) and beginning to use these to blend simple cvc words, counting up and back to different numbers, also looking at shapes, repeating patterns and finding one more as well as lots of exploring in our Indoor and Outdoor areas.
We have just completed our topic 'Celebrating Me.' After the holiday, as we head towards Christmas, we will be finding out about different Festivals and Celebrations from around the World. PE will remain on Tuesdays and Library day is Wednesday.
The first week back we will be taking part in the Whole School RE week - we will let you know how we get on during the week through Tapestry and this blog.
Just as a little reminder, please remember to put your child's reading book and comment book into their book bag everyday. It would be great if you could share this book as many times as possible during this time - talking through the book then building up to creating a story from the pictures. We are changing books weekly, if your child's book does get missed please let one of the Reception staff team know and we will change as soon as possible.
All the Reception Class team wish everyone a happy, safe and fun holiday and look forward to seeing you all back on Monday 30th October.
Please find attached the stories, pictures and actions for the phonemes we have been learning so far.
