Week is crammed full of events!
What a jam-packed week it has been...it seems to have flown by. Where do I start? We had St. David's Day, World Book Day and PANTS Workshops.
Wednesday saw Homefield commemorate St. David's Day (much to Mr. Etherington's delight). We had collective worship based around St. David and were lucky enough to taste some Welsh delights at lunchtime. Welsh cakes and potato and leek soup seemed to be a real hit. We also learnt why leeks and daffodils were national emblems.
Thursday was World Book Day and children were challenged to identify the books, which certain characters could be found in. Staff had chosen different characters to be over the course of the day. I can't believe children were unsure about the classic character, Mr. Fezziwig. Perhaps parents can relay which book this character belongs to. We also had teachers reading to different classes and Miss. Everett introduced the reading miles challenge. So get reading and earn that victory for your class.
Well done to all the Year 2 and 3 gymnasts who took part in the recent competitions. You have performed well and we are all very proud of you.
It was also nice to be invited to teach Year 3 for the day on Friday. Well done guys....keep up the hard work and remember to persevere, even if you find things difficult. Hope you all have a great weekend.
