Fantastic progress seen in Year 6 today.
Well done to the children in Year 6 today, who were sent down to my Office for praise and reward. The progress they have shown already in their place value and decimal understanding has been superb and worthy of note. I hope this continues.
I am also pleased with the improvement in the numbers of children reading at least five times to an adult in a week to fulfil our Super Reader challenge. The winning class was Year 6 with 18/31 pupils achieving the goal. However, no class has got anywhere near the 80% expectation threshold as yet, so please keep on reading and recording those signatures in reading records each day.
Attendance was won again for the second time in a row by Year 1 with 98%. Class attendance should meet and exceed the 95% threshold each week, but sadly Years 3, 4 and 6 fell below this figure.
Next week, we have our Macmillan Coffee morning, so please show your support for a worthy cause and attend.
Have a good weekend and hope to see you all again next week.
