Our Christian values are evidently prominent over the week!
This week saw a wonderful class collective worship from Year 4 on God's Persevering Love. Well done to Lucy, Christa and Asefeh for their choreography. Hopefully, the message of perseverance and resilience in the face of difficulty will spread to more and more pupils as we journey through the year. It is so pleasing to see so many receive the Golden and Stretch Growmin awards for displaying such qualities.
Attendance this week was once again won by Year 1 with 100%, who all showed they simply love coming into school every day. Sadly, Year 2 was the only class to fall below the 95% threshold. I hope their attendance improves next week. Well done to all other classes.
With our Super Readers campaign, Year 6 became the first class to break the 80% barrier. In fact, 84% of their class read at least 5 times to an adult in a week and brought in the evidence to prove it within their reading records. Keep this up guys! Let's see if you can be the greatest Year 6 cohort Homefield has ever had. The results from other classes were:
Year 1: 27% (8/30) Year 2: 30% (9/30) Year 3: 42% (13/31)
Year 4: 60% (18/30) Year 5: 39% (12/31) Year 6: 84% (26/31)
This is a plea to all parents. Please make sure you read daily with your children and record this evidence in their reading records. The positive impact that can be had on your child's learning by reading every day is huge. Let's see if all classes can persevere and get to 80% next week.
Sign-up sheets for parents' evening will go up on Monday, so please ensure you sign up to keep up-to-date with your child's learning, behaviour and progress.
Have a great weekend!
