The week ends with the protection of tigers high on the agenda.

As we enter the final week before half-term, I wish to highlight the wonderful things I have seen across the school. There has been some fantastic growth mindsets being shown in all year groups. Maths has involved subtraction using exchanging and this has brought with it its own challenged. However, children have persevered and have been using many different resources to model out the process being learnt.

I was particularly pleased with the writing in Year 6. I had the privilege to judge their slam poetry and many of them were rhythmic, performed well and full of strong vocabulary. Well done to Alexie Green for her final piece. Let's see some of these efforts on the Work of Distinction folder on our website.  With writing being our main area of improvement this year, it was great to see children being awarded the mention and trophy in Year 4 for their efforts with story writing.

The Boys' Football Team in Years 5&6 narrowly were defeated by Hillside in our first outing. The second half effort was certainly better than the first. We have another away game in the cup against Herman next Wednesday after school.

Super Readers:

Year 1: 43%       Year 2: 27%       Year 3: 39%      Year 4: 67%      Year 5: 39%      Year 6:  87%

Remember we need to reach 80% in all classes with children showing their reading records with five separate reads in a week.

Attendance was again won by Year 1 with 99.33%. However, I am pleased that all classes just managed to achieve the 95% threshold. One more win for Year 1 and they will receive another non-uniform day as a reward. Keep going guys! I hope you enjoyed dressing up as Tigers to raise awareness for their protection.

Next week, we have Parents' Evenings on Tuesday and Thursday, so please make sure you sign up for an appointment in order to be updated on your child's progress and behaviour.

Have a great weekend!
