Disco, Parental Workshop and a Trip to Time and Tide
It has been brilliant to see so much going on this week at school.
On Tuesday, we had the school disco and I saw plenty of children busting some moves to the music from DJ Kev. It was also on the day the Year 3 pupils visited the Time and Tide Museum as part of their local history studies on Great Yarmouth's maritime and herring industry. As you can see from our photograph and gallery, all the pupils had fun and learnt loads.
Wednesday brought some of our EYFS parents in to take part in a Funky Fingers workshop to improve the fine motor skills of our children. Our aims is to ensure our pupils enhance their pencil grip and ultimately improve their handwriting. Thank you to those parents for participating in this session, we hope that you will also now be able to support your child's writing development at home too.
In the latter part of the week, I have heard some brilliant musical rehearsals taking part in the Hall with Mrs. Loveland and Mrs. Duffield. Singing and instrumental performances have been music to my ears; I can only hope the Musical Ensemble will be just as impressive on Friday 15th February.
Attendance was won by Year 6 this week, with 100%. A fabulous response to being at 90% last week. Please keep this up. In fact, only two classes were below the 96% threshold - Reception and Year 3. Harriers won this week's team points - well done.
If you have not already done so, please ensure you sign up for a parents' evening slot. An extra session for EYFS parents only on Tuesday 12th February 3:30-6:00pm is being held whilst the usual sessions for everybody will be on Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th February 3:30-7:00pm. Please ensure meetings remain ten minutes out of courtesy to other parents waiting.
Have a great weekend and do not forget it it Valentine's Day coming up next week.
