First full week ends with a fabulous trip and scorching sunshine!
The Summer sunshine was beaming this week and with it came a brightness amongst staff and children alike. It is not coincidental that the theme for the Church School Headteachers' Conference on Tuesday was based upon 'flourishing together' and I return to see fabulous writing from Year 2 about dragons, our Pupil Premium families acquiring new, high quality reading material from Norfolk Children's Book Centre and our new Nursery parents being welcomed into our Homefield family at their open evening. I really do love how well our school staff go above and beyond to enable all our pupils to flourish and thrive.
Year 2 won the Attendance race this week with 99.33%. Sadly, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 all fell below the 96% threshold, due mainly to holidays being taken in term time. Hawkers continued their victorious run in the House Team Points competition and have now begun to extend their lead over the other Houses. Well done to them.
Next week, our Year 2 class will begin their focus on KS1 SATs quizzes and our Reception class will be travelling to the Farm at Peterhouse Primary Academy. For a short time, we will say farewell and good luck to our Year 4 pupils, who are off on their residential to Kingswood. You cannot beat a good, old residential. Good luck Miss. Studley, Mrs. Ashington and Mrs. Clarke!
Please remember it is a Bank Holiday next week, so the school will be closed on Monday, reopening on Tuesday.
