Boat Race ends in fiery disaster!
Well despite being tired, the Year 6 pupils, staff and I returned safely after a jam-packed week of activities at the wonderful Whitwell Hall. We love it there, although I think there was some definite and deliberate interference from Whitwell staff on my boat prior to the race heats. See what you think in our Photo Gallery.
Like all participants, I waited eagerly for my boat to come around the river bend, only to see it explode and catch alight. Thank you John. However, I had the last laugh as my boat "Snelly" was given a wild card entry into the final only to end up winning.
I hope everyone had a wonderful week in my absence. Mrs. Newman is a star.
Next week, we have transition day and transition days to High Schools. Try not to be too worried, you will all love your new classes, new teachers and new schools (Year 6).
Attendance needs drastic improvement across the school to reach the threshold of 96%. Year 4 was down to a dreadful 84.87% this week. All other classes were below the threshold except for Year 6 with 97.33%. Swallowtails won the House Team Points race. Well done.
Have a lovely weekend in the sun, I am off for a well-earned bath and early night.
