A sad week ends with a Viking trip and a raid on Norwich Castle
This week has been quite emotive for many different reasons, but one is that we have had to say a fond farewell to Mrs. Loveland. She will be a real loss to the staff room, but also to the school because she brought with her a calmness and a passion for inspiring others to develop both musically, but also as a rounded person. Mrs. Loveland was actually my first staff appointment three years ago and she more than fulfilled the remit I gave her with our Music provision. Everyone at Homefield wishes her well in her new career venture, but she leaves with the knowledge that she will always be a part of Homefield. I am pleased to inform you that we have recruited well and have appointed Mrs. Howard (not the one in Reception) to take over from Mrs. Loveland.
Hawkers won the House Team Points race with Year 3, again, winning the attendance for the week. Sadly, Year 1 and Year 2 fell below 96%, however Year 6 was at 98%. Well done.
Mrs. Clarke and I have had a great meeting with our Caring Crusaders and have instructed them to be more prominent this year. I have every faith they will be a success and lead they way with a restorative approach towards forgiveness and reconciliation regarding minor disputes.
Year 5 travelled to Norwich Castle today and learnt lots about the Vikings. I do hope the Castle has been left standing and not too much pillaging and plundering took place. Our Photo Gallery and social media accounts will promote the trip on their return.
We are expecting a SIAMS (Church) inspection this term, so please ensure you are fully aware of our Christian vision and how we as a school demonstrate it so well. I have attached a guidance document below for you to read to understand the process a bit more.
Next week, we have the PTA school disco on Tuesday 8th October, the Year 1s class collective worship on Wednesday 9th and we have Nasal Flu Immunisations on Mental Health Awareness Day, which is Thursday 10th. Remember to wear something yellow on that day please.
I hope you all have a great weekend.
