Panto sends all pupils into rapturous laughter!
The M&M Production Team provided a really entertaining version of Jack and the Beanstalk. It was enjoyed by all. Great to see all pupils laughing along and joining in with all the jokes.
This week, we have had a visit from a representative of the Local Authority and it was great to be able to share the strengths and areas for improvement of the school with confidence.
Year 5 won the weekly attendance race with 100%, so well done to this class. Year 6 fell below 96% threshold to 93%. I truly hope this does not prove a detrimental factor in our SATS results. Swallowtails also won the House team Points for the week and they have really closed the gap on the overall leaders, Hawkers. Great effort Swallowtails.
It has been a real pleasure to see the pupils making more effort at lunchtimes to enjoy the meal experience. We have increased the expectations upon all children to ask to be excused from the table when they have finished and this has almost halved the amount of food wastage we have had previously. They have all taken to this new standard well. Keep it up. Our School Council are also going to be having a push on table manners and encouraging parents to instruct their children a little more on using a knife and fork properly. Thank you also to all those parents who have completed the meal surveys and helped us identify meals we do not offer that the pupils enjoy at home.
Our JLT have also launched their new courageous advocacy project to help end loneliness for the elderly in our local area by teaming up with Better Together. The school pupils are now fully aware and future events will be organised for this worthy cause.
Have a great weekend everyone!
