Sport Provides Much Needed Relief

In this section...

Fixtures and Sport Relief Day provide distraction from COVID-19!

Kingfishers' House Captains were Headteachers for the day today. We did a dance with Curtis and AJ for Sport Relief; the children were allowed to dress in sports' clothes or in their P.E. kit if they so wished. We led a collective worship and it was nice to see how the children were doing in class and all their achievements they have been accomplishing.

This week our house point winners were Hawkers. The class that won the attendance race was Year One with 99.8%. Sadly, Year 6 and Reception were below the 96% threshold.

On Monday, the girls' football team played Caister in a quarter-final fixture. We are delighted to say the girls won 6-0 and advanced to the semi-final. On Tuesday, the boys' football team competed against Martham in their respective cup fixture. Unfortunately, the boys lost 4-0 in a very well-battled game. The school and I are very proud of all players in both teams.

As most of you saw yesterday, the Prime Minister has announced that should anybody:

Get a new, persistent cough and/or

Have a temperature above 37.8 degrees

Then they are to self-isolate for seven days. If the person has a runny nose this does not seem to be a concerning symptom and would not need self-isolation. Unfortunately, this situation is worsening daily and, as a school, updated guidance is arriving regularly throughout the day. We will do our best to keep you informed. Please continue to heighten your child's self-management of hand washing and the correct use of tissues when sneezing/coughing.

Our staff are preparing E-packs of learning for each class should the school close. These will be able to be accessed from our websites. Hopefully, they will not be needed. We appreciate everyone doing their bit to keep everyone as safe as possible. If you do have a concern, please contact the school office.

Next week, we have our Year 3 parents in for lunch on Tuesday and a Governor Challenge Session looking at a specific focus. On Wednesday after-school, there will be a KS1 SATs meeting for parents.

Have a relaxing weekend everyone!
