Soggy end to the week welcomes the autumnal season!

We have now completed the third full week back after returning and I am thrilled to say the pupils and staff continue to work diligently and have adapted well to the new procedures. I am pleased that so many of you have been highly supportive of what the school has been doing and swiftly adhering to the rules and expectations we have in place.

Hopefully, you have all set up your children on Google Classroom ready for remote education should any of them be self-isolating or unable to access school due to COVID-related restrictions. Please ensure you do this as soon as you can and keep the login details safe. There is an information page and step-by-step video guide on Google Classroom on this website.

Dinners have been a real success since Monday as we extended hot meals again to all classes and I am thrilled so many Juniors are taking up the opportunity to have a school-prepared hot meal or packed lunch with their friends. Have a look at our tasty menu on the relevant tab under Parents' Information.  Remember the more we prepare the more funding we as a school will receive, which all goes back into providing opportunities to shine.

Bikeability took place for a couple of days and thankfully those Year 6 pupils participating overcame their initial apprehension and did superbly to achieve their certificates, despite the poor weather.

From Monday, our Nursery should re-open after a two-week closure. It has been frustrating, but we are happy that staff can return and complete the Meet and Greet sessions.

During the week, we discovered we were now the home for a couple of hedgehogs. It has been fabulous for the children to see the wonder of nature and pupils stood in awe at the bravery of the hedgehog that left its shelter to tuck into the food we had had laid out.

Next week, remember it is National Poetry Day on 1st October.

We would love to see more pupils in Years 4, 5 and 6 taking up the sport club offered after-school each week, particularly in Years 5 and 6. Simply book your child on using the online system.

Have a great weekend everyone. Stay safe and dry...hopefully!
