Government confirms schools not to open until at least 8th March
We are all used to so many Government announcements and daily updates that this latest one barely raises an eyebrow, but it at least confirmed that schools will not open before 8th March. We wait to see what the science says nearer the time to see if it is safe enough to do so.
Home learning is challenging for parents and pupils, it is the same for those on staff who have children also. Moreover, we appreciate the impact being apart from classmates and the classroom may be having on the mental health and the educational future of our pupils, but we must ensure they and the staff are safe. It is coincidental that it is mental health week next week and we would like all our pupils to be as active as possible to stimulate more positivity away from screens as possible.
Hopefully, the issue with the Local Authority laptops has been resolved with the link sent for step by step guidance to get the sound back on. If you have any further issues, please contact the school office. The letter on our website 28.1.21, explains that the school will close, as normal, for half-term and will reopen on Monday 22nd February, returning for the same limited number of pupils.
We hope we will be able to reopen for all pupils as soon as is possible.
Stay safe and have a great weekend.
