Sports' Premium pays off!
Well it has been another week that has simply flown by. Nevertheless, I have enjoyed teaching a remote German session for Year 3 pupils. I hope all of the children manage to take a look and are happy to complete the short survey giving me some feedback before I plan to do a follow up session. It was quite good fun, although you do not get the same spark from a video camera as you do a class of thirty children.
It has been enjoyable watching the Reception children using some new toys purchased with our Sports’ Premium funding to improve their physical development. Even the staff got involved on them, until Mrs. Jones decided to fall off. Thankfully, there was no lasting damage.
Years 2 and 5 staff are trialling virtual group interventions next week and will inform selected pupils when these are going to take place. If successful, it is hoped these can be used in each class.
We will be launching a marketing campaign to increase our Nursery numbers for September 2021. If you come across our social media advertisement, please share it with as many people as you can. We also aim to advertise in the local press to increase the Homefield word. If you know of anyone with a child (who will be 3 years of age in September) looking for a Nursery provision, please recommend our school Nursery to them.
As we approach half-term at the end of next week, please remember to stay safe. Nobody enjoys being in this lockdown, but we must all adhere to the rules for the safety of everyone, particularly as these new variants spread. We only have to switch on the television to see the devastating global impact of this virus, so we all must play our part, however tough it might be. If we persevere, we will get through it.
Have a great weekend and stay safe.
