It has been enjoyable and fun being the Headteacher for the Day today. We have bought some new resources for classes, we have led an active outdoor session with Reception pupils and we have led a collective worship. There was also a safety walk where we checked the condition of the play equipment outside. We have been very busy (with only one cup of tea).
This week Hawkers won the House Team Points and Year 4 had a whopping 21 pupils read at least five times across the week. Reading is so vitally important for all pupils to access every area of the curriculum, so please practice this each day. Ten minutes of personal time can be dedicated to this valuable task.
Following on with our Diversity campaign, we have been fortunate enough to secure Mr. Andrew Wilson, the graffiti artist who visited our school once before. As a J.L.T., we have to jet wash the gazebo down and then prime it ready for the colourful and eye-catching art mural that will promote how Homefield accepts difference and diversity. We are also working on a collective worship for our new value of Compassion, which we will deliver next week live to the rest of the school.
Next week, the Hawker House Captains will be Headteachers for the Day. Have a lovely weekend everyone.
