Challenge Woods For Zip Wire Fun

In this section...

Reception enjoy outdoor fun in Challenge Woods!

This week has been full of events once again. As you can see from the photo, I was lucky enough to be invited along on to the Reception class trip to Challenge Woods, where I came in handy as the zip-wire attendant for pupils and staff. Lots of bravery was seen to overcome small fears, but best of all lots of enjoyment was had by everyone.

Year 6 were meant to have their first fun Friday today to Pleasurewood Hills, but sadly the weather forecast enforced a postponement and this will now be three fun Fridays and a Thursday when they will get to go next week. They will also be able to attend the Beach as class. Hopefully, the weather remains bright.

Well done to Year 1, once again, as they were victorious in achieving the most children reading five times in a week with a whopping twenty-five. However, two other classes, Years 3 and 4, did manage to get twenty and over. Great stuff, because reading is the key to the door. Hawkers won this week's House Team Points race also. Well done to them.

It has been lovely reading the end of year reports for all the children. It really shows how well the staff have understood the characters in their class and have really acknowledged their strengths, but also have given them steps to improve. It is sad that these will be the final ones I write for the school.

Year 2 pupils dressed up in pyjamas today to raise funds in aid of the negative impact of the Delta variant in India. Well done to all pupils and staff who walked thirty-seven laps of our field. Pictures coming next week and a grand total too.

Due to the current Government safety restrictions, we, like the majority of other schools, are not enabling parents to attend a normal Sports' Day, but instead are going to ensure the pupils compete as a class in the different sports' day disciplines to accumulate points for their House Teams, which will be collated at the end. This will be within a Sports' Week. EYFS classes will also have their own version in this week. We understand this is not ideal and we would love to be able to accommodate parents into school once again for different things, but the risks are too great to conduct things safely. Please do not worry, we will take photographs across this week and share the classes taking part on our website.

Have a great weekend everyone.
