What a busy couple of days!!!
We are so impressed how Reception Class have begun to settle into the routine of starting school. This week we have begun finding out what little Super Stars we have had join Homefield. Children have been showing the adults how they can hold a pencil and write their name, recognise numbers 0-20, phase 2 sounds and also recognise colours and shapes. All of this as well as finding their way about the classroom and outdoor area.
At Homefield we do ask for children to have clear water in their drinking bottles. Children should not be having juice in their drinking bottles, however juice can be brought into school for children to have at lunch time.
Reception class will have weekly PE sessions in the School Hall. This will be on Tuesday afternoons. Please could your child bring in a named bag with a named light blue t-shirt and black shorts inside. We recommend the PE bag remains in school and is washed each half term. Children with ear rings needs to have them removed at home or covered with tape or plasters to prevent any accidents.
All the children were very excited today when talking about staying for lunch tomorrow and trying the hot dinners or school packed lunches. Hopefully lots of children will be trying the lunches as they are delicious!
Well done Reception
