Happy New Year 2019!!
Happy New Year to you all and we hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Can we just say Thank you for all of our Christmas cards and gifts.
Year 1 have started the new year positivitly and ready for the Spring term.
We will be beginning this half term with a week of Computing - Programming toys. So far so good, creating algorthyms, coding and debugging building up to making a Bee-Bot move to a set destination.
Our Maths unit for the next four weeks is addition and subtraction within 20.
Our English unit is going to be focusing on writing reports and recounts.
PE will be Tuesday afternoon - Indoor - Dance, and Thursday afternoon - Outdoor (Please remember to include warm clothing - trousers/joggers and a jumper/sports jacket. ) We will be going outside in all weathers unless it is raining.
Our Phonics to looking really positive. We are currently looking at alternative phonemes (different individual sounds, digraphs and trigraphs which make the same sound) . Remember to practise regularly the Phonics homework and daily reading as this will help your child to achieve the Year 1 Phonics screening. Regular practise will see improvements and confidence in your child.
