Week commencing 19th May

What a busy week!! Year 1 have been working extra hard this week showing us what they know.  Everyone has attempted quiz booklets for maths, reading and phonics.  These have shown some great levels of progress from everyone.  So I think a weeks holiday is well and truly deserved - well done to each and everyone in the class.

Just a reminder during the holidays to remember to do some reading, not just reading books, but when out and about read signs and displays, this will enable the children to use their phonetic knowledge in the wider environment.  Phonic homework is in the Homework books and lots of sounds to practise in the Phonics Homework books as usual.  This will keep the sound knowledge fresh in all minds.

We have now completed our Passover RE topic.  This week we had the Passover Story and tried some Matzo crackers.

During PE we practised a standing long jump.  Mrs Carter was extremely impressed with how far children could jump in the class!

Well, the sun is shining, fingers crossed it will last.  Wishing you all a very happy and safe holiday.  See you all back on Monday 3rd June.
