We made it...
Hope you are all safe and well. Well we made it! These three weeks back have been interesting with the children adjusting back into school and their routines but we must say they have all done exceptionally well! Thank you for your support during this time. We hope after Easter we will continue to see great behaviour and we can therefore continue to push them on academically.
We have been focusing on respect as a school since we have been back and this is something we have been talking about in class. The children have really taken notice of this and we have seen some good manners being used which is fantastic.
Maths this week has been a recap on the previous lessons with us going back over all of the key concepts with recognising their numbers to 50 and looking at addition and subtraction. The children have been able to apply with they have learnt so far, which is good to see and we will recap this again after the break. In English this week, the children have been trying to write their own stories based on the book 'Jasper's Beanstalk'. They have been trying to think about how their story can flow and using their days of the week.
With Easter fast approaching we have been tying this in with our RE lessons. The children have been looking at the Easter story and have completed some different pieces of work based on this including creating their own stain glassed window.
Due to assessments going on this week, we have not completed the rainbow words with the children, so this will be picked up again after the break.
We hope the children all have a lovely Easter holiday and get lots of rest, ready for some great work when they get back.
From the Year 1 team
