Toys from the past...

We have had great fun in Year 1 this week exploring toys from the past. We have thought about how we know a toy is old and learnt about the toys that people played with about 60 years ago. We were surprised by how many of the toys are still popular today.

Children have been given a special challenge to find out what toys the grownups in their families enjoyed when they were children. Draw some pictures and label what the toys are. Here is a website link about lots of different toys from different decades http://www.skooldays.com/blog/toys-in-the-60s/

In our English lessons we are using the story Ruby's Worry. We work as a class to think of exciting vocabulary, and then we work with our Year 1 adults to write a super sentence.

In Maths, we have been thinking about counting forwards and backwards. This helps us when finding one more and one less than a number. We are working really hard to form our number correctly and count accurately.

PE Days are Wednesdays and this will continue throughout the year. You will be informed of any changes.

Please do not hesitate to get in contact with me if you have any worries or concerns.

Take care and have a lovely weekend,

Miss Clark
