Commanding Children, Christmas Crafts and Play Perfecting!
What a great Decoration Morning we have had! The crafts are looking great and lots of fun was had making them! I certainly cant wait to see the finished clay Nativities!
We have been learning all about instructions this week, picking them apart and realising they are made up of bossy verbs (imperative verbs) and that they are full of commands! We used this knowledge to sequence some instructions and write our own command sentences.
In Maths, we have started learning about multiplication. We have learned that the multiplication symbol just means 'equal groups of' and this has helped us to see that it is the same as repeated addition. We will be carrying on expanding this idea next week!
We started our Geography topic - We are Cartographers (map makers) and have explored the seven continents, five oceans and drew our own sketch maps of our route to Church. We will be looking more closely at the features of maps and making our own keys next week.
Our play rehearsals are going well and the songs are sounding great! I hope to get a letter to you all about costumes early next week but they will be as simple as a pair of black/grey leggins or trousers and a coloured t-shirt that matches their animal's colour as we have some costumes in school already and will be making masks with the children too. Tickets will also be available next week, so please speak to the lovely Office Staff.
Have a great weekend!
Miss Everett, Mrs Simpkins and Pixie (who has behaved herself this week!)
