Grinch Instructions and exploring money... completed it!
I won't ramble on as you all have far better things to do with your families as you prepare for Christmas but I would like to start with a HUGE THANK YOU to the children for their resilience in adapting to the changes in the school routine as well as starting a new year group after missing so much of Year 1 and for their abilities to always make me and the Year 2 team smile. You brighten what have sometimes been tough days and your hard work and enthusiasm are my energy source!
Thank you also for all the kind messages, cards and gifts you have given us. We are so grateful for your kindness and thoughtfulness and hope you all have a wonderful and safe Christmas.
NOTICE: When we return in January 2021 (eek!) we will be doing Gymnastics with Mr Carr, a specialist Gymnastics teacher, every Monday as well as our usual PE days on Wednesdays. The children therefore will need to come in on a Monday wearing their PE kits as well as on Wednesdays. The children also need to wear socks that have grippy bottoms (like jump socks you wear for trampolining) as we will be doing the sessions in the outdoor classroom. Our first session in on the first Monday back (4th January).
In January, we are very lucky to be welcoming Miss Hollis into our class as a TA who will be primarily working with small booster groups of children each day. This does mean that we will sadly be saying goodbye (but not farewell) to Miss Gee as she will be moving to work in a different class within the school. I know the children have loved working with Miss Gee and are thankful for all the support she has given them in the time she's been with us, but she'll still be around for them to say hello and share all their exciting news!
Have a restful and happy Christmas and I look forward to seeing you all in the new year.
Miss Everett and Mrs Simpkins
