Starry Night...

For the past two weeks we have been focusing on The Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh. The children have experimented with using acrylic paints and finger paints before creating our final pieces yesterday. Next week we will be looking at some of the art work by Claude Monet.

In maths we have been focusing on addition and subtraction. We have focused on adding multiples of 100 and adding a 1 digit number to a 3 digit number. The children have trialled different methods to support this and to deepen their understanding. We have used base 10, number lines and we have also looked at partitioning numbers. This weeks secret word is partitioning.

The children have worked very hard in English this week editing and writing their animal poems. We have seen some excellent progress in handwriting and vocabulary choice..... well done Year 3 :).

A reminder that it is Parents Evening next Tuesday and Wednesday. Please sign up if you would like an appointment. It is also a 3 day week as we break up for Half Term on Wednesday.

We will be starting our Gymnastics lessons on Monday. Please ensure that your child has their PE kit in school Monday morning.

Thank-you for all of your donations this week for World Mental Health Day and Harvest Festival.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Clark and Mrs Ashington.
