IT'S PART OF THE PIRATE CODE!

In this section...

Robin Hood and Year 3 walking through the forest!

Well me hearties what a busy week it has been aboard the Year 3 ship!

Lets begin with the distance swims on Monday. The whole class did incredibly well and all gace it their best try. We are immensely proud of them and the sheer determination they put into the lessons did not go unnoticed. Monday 25th March will be our last swimming lesson.

In English this week, we have started our new writing topic. We are still writing to entertain but we are now using Robin Hood as inspiration to write our own legend story. Year 3 have been picking apart model texts and they have started to write their own versions in small groups.

In maths, we have finished our work on measuring length and perimeter. Next week we will start our unit of work on fractions. Linking to maths please continue on Hit the Button and Times Tables Rockstars. We are now also sending home the Ten in Ten challenges that children do every day. Please speak to us if you have any questions about how you can use these to support your child at home.

Art lessons this week have been very creative. We have not quite finished our final pieces yet so you will have to wait for the big reveal.

Next week we will begin an RE unit of work. The unit will be focusing on the Holy Trinity. Knowledge Organisers will be sent home on Monday.

I think it is safe to say the songs for this years production are well and truly stuck in our heads! The children have worked exceptionally hard this week throughout our rehearsals and have responded positively to performing without their scripts. A letter has been sent home today regarding tickets. All tickets are being sorted by class teachers. Please speak to myself or Miss Studley if you have any queries. A reminder that costumes need to be in by next Friday as we will be having a dress rehearsal on this day, again if you have any queries please speak to myself or Miss Studley.

This week the secret word is 'denominator'!

Have a super weekend,

Miss Clark and Mrs Ashington  :)
