It has been another great week in Year 3. We have been super engaged in our English work and tackled our new Maths learning with positivity. Here are some of the things we have been up to this week and some important notices...
In our English lessons this week we have continued with writing our explanation texts based on the text The Street Beneath our Feet. I think it is safe to say we were astonished to see the inside of caves but horrified to see what lurks in the sewers.
This week, we started our fractions block of learning. We have been focusing on halves and quarters. Some printouts went home with key vocabulary and facts on to support this learning. This may be helpful when supporting children with any homework they have linked to fractions.
In our RE lessons we have been learning about different religious ceremonies and how people show commitment. Today we came up with our own religions and beliefs. Next week we are going to be planning and writing about a commitment ceremony for our religions.
Monday will be our last Gymnastics lesson with Mr Carr. We are super impressed with lots of the children for how positively they have responded to the lessons and the progress that they have made.
I am proud to announce that this week we had 16 Super Readers! We have also earnt as a class 159 Reading Miles. We were amazed to see how far we have travelled already.
Next week's Homework challenge is revisiting some fractions work from this week, spellings and a times table challenge. Well done to all the children who completed their homework this week.
Earlier this week, the children were given Year 1- Year 4 spellings and times table facts. Please do use these with your child regularly to aid their fluency, accuracy and confidence.
Have a wonderful weekend :)
