Going Crackers on Decoration Day!

May I say a huge thank you to the adults who gave up part of their morning to support the children today. With your help they managed to make a Christmas cracker and a Christmas Tree decoration.  The decorations will be available to purchase at the Christmas Fayre on Saturday 7th December.  The crackers will be used to decorate the Christmas dinner table next week. We are giving them to Year 1.  In return, they are making us a place mat.

Your child has a new Knowledge Organiser in their bag today.  We start the new art topic next week.  We are looking at the artist 'Edgar Degas'. Read all about him and get ahead. We will be looking at movement through art.

Thank you to those of you who completed the Flopsy Challenge. She will be arriving in mid December. Your children now have a much better ability to talk about the countries in Europe.  We have displayed the entrants in the classroom and will see who got the closest when we find out Flopsy's route.

In maths we have been learning about perimeter.  Ask your children all about it. We will be finishing this off next week then starting a unit on multiplication and division.

In English we have been writing formal letters. We may communicate more in other ways but the art of letter writing is still an important skill.

Have a great weekend as we head into December and the start of advent. The secret word is 'Advent'. Do you know what it means?
