National Poetry Day - Homefield house teams get creative!
Thursday 6th October was national poetry day, and was the perfect reason for poetry to become the focus of our school, for a day.
Children and staff from KS2 gathered in their house teams, and had the morning to write, polish and perfect their poems, ready to perform in a special afternoon assembly. The poems were then judged by Headteacher Mr Young, who announced the winning house team, after adding up the points earnt for performance, style and language. Congratulations go to Hawkers for winning.
KS1 also joined in the poetry fun creating their own poems, during the morning, that they then shared with the rest of the school, by performing them in the afternoon assembly.
